Erich Meyerhoff was a longtime friend of my wife's family. He was in charge of the Cornell Medical Library for many years and when I moved to New York in 1970 to go to Cooper Union School of Art he gave me a part time job in the library that kept me afloat. Cooper Union had free tuition bu I had to cover the rent on my Lower East Side apartment--$80 a month in those days.
Erich was one of those wonderful people you meet now and then. A kind person who was interested in everything.
My sister-in-law took this picture of him a few months ago when he was looking at an album of my recent Dope Rider strips.
All the 1970s - 80s Dope Riders, along with other of my comics, are in my anthology Awaiting the Collapse. The comics I've done from 2015 through 2020 are in my new anthology, A Fistful of Delirium. Both are available at www.paulkirchner.com. If you'd like to purchase Dope Rider merchandise, I’ve opened shops on some on-line stores. I have a Dope Rider shop at Red Bubble and have a Dope Rider Store at CafePress.com. Your patronage is most appreciated!

Part 1 of a 3-Part Dope Rider
High Times asked me to keep Dope Rider to a single page, but I had an idea I needed three pages for. I figured if I could make each strip self-contained, I could go it. Unfortunately, because of the confusing way I was labeling strips by the month I thought they would appear in, they didn't publish the middle episode. So I'll hold off on that until it appears in the magazine.
Anyway, I particularly liked the way this one turned out.

Recent Dope Rider
I wanted to come up with a Dope Rider graphic so I used it as a wanted poster in this one.
I was up at High Times two weeks ago and it sank in that they're not running a Dope Rider comic every month, so I should stop listing them by date because that's probably wrong. I only get into New York every few months, and that's when I pick up the latest issues, so I'm not exactly on top of things. I did find out I'm ahead of schedule so I took a Christmas break and will try to come up with something good this month. My Happy New Year's wishes for everyone!
