Erich Meyerhoff was a longtime friend of my wife's family. He was in charge of the Cornell Medical Library for many years and when I moved to New York in 1970 to go to Cooper Union School of Art he gave me a part time job in the library that kept me afloat. Cooper Union had free tuition bu I had to cover the rent on my Lower East Side apartment--$80 a month in those days.
Erich was one of those wonderful people you meet now and then. A kind person who was interested in everything.
My sister-in-law took this picture of him a few months ago when he was looking at an album of my recent Dope Rider strips.
